SUMMARY:2023 Nucleic Acids Gordon Research Conference: Structural\, Functional and Mechanistic Behavior of DNA\, RNA and Nucleic Acid Processing Enzymes
DESCRIPTION:The Nucleic Acids GRC is a premier\, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research\, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide\, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities\, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks\, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages\, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.

SUMMARY:2023 Upconverting Nanoparticles Gordon Research Conference: Upconverting and Related Light-Conversion Materials Aimed at Biomedical\, Energy and Quantum Applications
DESCRIPTION:The Upconverting Nanoparticles GRC is a premier\, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research\, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. \nUpconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) and related frequency-conversion nanomaterials find themselves at the intersection of many of today’s most important and demanding research areas including deep-tissue bio-imaging\, sensing\, and theranostics; solar light harvesting; neuroscience and optogenetics; nanoscale thermometry; and quantum communication. The rapidly emerging insights into fundamental – and tunable – upconverting nanomaterials properties together with fast-growing application spaces provides an exciting opportunity for the scientific exchange of unpublished data and provocative ideas that will ultimately maximize impact in the biomedical\, information technology\, and energy sectors. The 2023 GRC on Upconverting Nanoparticles brings together biologists\, materials scientists\, chemists\, physicists\, engineers\, and theory and computational experts. It will accelerate progress and address the core challenges in this far-reaching research area\, uniting world-renowned senior and junior experts. Participants will experience cutting-edge and thought-provoking invited lectures and engage in extensive scientific discussions and interaction with researchers\, students\, and postdoctoral fellows. Each lecture will be followed by ample time for lively discussion and question-and-answer sessions among invited speakers\, discussion leaders\, and all participants.
